Qualifications

There are an awful lot of opinions on dog training out there, and it can be incredibly confusing to wade through all the voices and find one that knows what they are doing.  An important question to ask about any trainer you work with is “are you qualified?”.  The short answer?  Yes!  The long answer…

I hold a certification as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) through through CCPDT.

I am a proud graduate of both levels of the Marin Humane Society’s Canine Behavior Academy taught by Trish King, CPDT-KA, CDBC.

I am a licensed Parent Educator through Family Paws, offering classes on both dog-baby and dog-toddler dynamics.

I have mentored under several other amazing trainers in both private consults and class settings, and I continue to maintain relationships with and consult with wonderful professional trainers across the United States.

As part of my certification (and for my own passion), I stay up to date with current research, humane training methods, and dog behavior through continuing education courses, lectures, and scientific literature.  Some of the lecturers I follow include Grisha Stewart, Suzanne Clothier, Nicole Wilde, Ken Ramirez, and Kathy Sdao.

I am a professional member of both the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Pet Professional Guild.
